Issues
Chris Shea is running for Congress on a simple idea: trust must be earned through service, integrity, and results. For 35 years, he has served his country and community as a Navy SEAL, Pentagon leader, firefighter, paramedic, and advocate for veterans and first responders. He has been trusted on the battlefield and as a firefighter, now he is asking to be trusted again. Chris is running to protect American families, cut wasteful spending in Washington, lower the cost of living, reduce red tape, support law enforcement, and advance pro-worker, pro-business policies that put Connecticut citizens first. Grounded in faith, family, and a lifetime of public service, he is not a career politician, but a proven problem-solver ready to bring grit, common sense, and accountability to Congress.
PUT CONNECTICUT CITIZENS FIRST
Connecticut needs a representative who understands the challenges facing our state and the Northeast. From high energy costs and overregulation to protecting local industries, small businesses, and working families. Chris Shea will fight for policies that strengthen Connecticut’s economy, defend our communities, and ensure our region’s priorities are not ignored in Washington.
PROTECT FAMILIES
Protecting families starts with safe communities, secure borders, and a culture that puts the future of our country first. Chris Shea will fight to stop illegal immigration, crack down on the flow of drugs and crime into our communities, and stand against radical woke ideologies that threaten our children’s future, undermine parental rights, and weaken the family values that keep Connecticut great.
LOWER COST OF LIVING
Connecticut families are being squeezed from every direction by high electricity bills, heavy taxes, and rising housing costs. Chris believes the cost of living in our state has become unsustainable for working families, young professionals, and seniors on fixed incomes. He will fight for policies that lower energy costs, reduce the tax burden, and promote practical housing solutions that help more people afford to live and work in Connecticut. That means supporting a stronger economy, reducing unnecessary barriers that drive up costs, and making it easier for families to build a stable future here at home.
STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
Illegal immigration threatens the safety and security of Connecticut families. Chris will always fight to secure the border, enforce our immigration laws, and stop the flow of fentanyl and other deadly drugs into our neighborhoods. As a firefighter and first responder, he has seen firsthand the devastation fentanyl has caused in communities and the toll it has taken on families. He will fight to fund border patrol, support law enforcement, and put the safety of American families first.
KEEP AMERICA STRONG
Chris spent 33 years serving this country as a Navy SEAL, dedicating his life to protecting the United States and defending our interests around the world. He believes peace is secured through strength, not weakness, and that America must always maintain the military power, readiness, and resolve needed to deter our enemies. Chris believes America should stand with our ally Israel and support its right to self-defense. In Congress, he will advocate for American Military strength, support our troops and veterans, and ensure our nation remains strong, respected, and prepared to meet any threat.
SUPPORTING OUR VETERANS
Connecticut’s veterans have earned more than a “thanks for your service”, they deserve real support and timely access to the care and services they need. He started a non-profit to transition veterans into first responder roles and understands first-hand how important it is to make a career pathway for separating & retired veterans. Chris will fight to improve access to the VA, cut through bureaucratic delays, and make it easier for veterans to get quality healthcare, job opportunities, and the benefits they have earned through their service. He is committed to standing up for veterans and military families, reducing barriers for those building a life in Connecticut, and making sure the men and women who served our country are never forgotten.
